Skilled Manual Therapy and Bodywork
When sub-acute and chronic conditions or injuries no longer require intensive physical therapy, but require continued bodywork, patients may benefit from skilled manual therapy and bodywork. This physical therapy maintenance approach utilizes advanced soft tissue interventions and bodywork to support the outcomes gained by intensive physical therapy, but with minimal skilled joint interventions or progressive therapeutic exercise.
Typically, visits are much less frequent and are on an as needed basis. Additionally, since care transitions from intensive physical therapy to maintenance therapy, a referral from an Approved Medical Provider (AMP) may not required.
